We are off to the southern part of Utah to visit Zion and Bryce. Our RV site is in Virgin, Utah which is about 15 miles from the entrance to Zion National Park and about a 2 hour drive from Bryce canyon.
The approach to Virgin is equally breathtaking as the drive to Red Fleet State Park the previous week.
The town itself is very small and not much to speak off. But unlike many RV sites which call themselves Resorts (I think these folks need to look up the dictionary for the meaning of the word "resort"), this one (Zion River RV resort) is quite truly of the resort category.
This is definitely one of the best RV sites we have stayed in.
On their recommendation, we contacted Bryce (wonder if his parents named him after the canyon). He came over the next day and repaired our stairs much to my delight. Unfortunately he could not fix the awning. Apparently, the awnings do not come in standard sizes and so have to be custom ordered; which would take 2 weeks or more. At least, we got the steps repaired.
But it seems our troubles were not over.
On Monday, we were just outside Zion Park having dinner, when I received a text message from citi cards wanting to know if I had placed 2 orders with Macy's in Florida that afternoon. Since neither John nor I had lost our cards, we figured that someone had somehow got hold of our card number. so, c citi closed that accound and fedexed a new set of cards which arrived on Wednesday. So I feel better now.
